ANXO has dedicated to dosage form development and built up many technique platforms, including Oral Osmostic-pump Drug Delivery System, GEOMARTIX, Self-Micro Emulsified Drug Delivery System (SMEDDS), Mini-Pellet Coating and Multi Unit Pellet System (MUPS).  Based on different drug characteristics, adequate plateform would be chose for product development and even new dosage form modifications, reducing side effects and improving patient mediciation compliance and convenience.

Oral Osmostic-pump Drug Delivery System

This technique has been discovered by US pharmaceutical company. It has advantages that for both hydrophilic and hydrophobic drugs, it is independent to pH value of gastrointestinal fluid and food effect and provide zero order drug release. Compare with general extended or controlled release dosage forms, Oral Osmostic-pump Drug Delivery System has more stable drug concentration level. Therefore, it's more safe for high potency drugs.
Although this technique is pretty mature, the manufacturing process is very complicated and advanced equipments and expertise are required. The threshold of this technique is high. We have also applied this plateform on many generic drugs as well as 505(b)2 develpoment.

GEOMATRIX

GEOMATRIX is a multi-layer drug carrier plateform by loading drug on a multi-layer tablet where each layer exhibits different release rate. After the drug is swallowed, this formulation can be designed to control drug release time as well as drug release location. It shows significant effect to stablize drug concentration level. This multi-layer "sandwich" structure can be used as drug carrier plateform for multi-indications drugs.

Self-Micro Emulsified Drug Delivery System (SMEDDS)

SMEDDS is used for improving drug's solubility and absorption. Particularly for BCS Class III and IV in 505(b)2 and NCE development application. Our R&D team has been applied this plateform on 505(b)2 drugs with low solubility and low permeability.

Mini-Pellet Coating

This technology plateform is the combination of oral disintegration and sustained release technology. Mini-pellet coating tablet can disintegrate within 30 seconds and has a sustained drug release. By this technology, drug can be taken without water and quickly disintegrate and dissolve in mouth. With patient's swallow reflex, dissolved drug can be delivered to gastrointestinal tract and achieved a sustained drug release. It has advantage especially for patients with swallow difficultly, stroke or head injury.

Multi Unit Pellet System (MUPS)

MUPS is a modified release drug delivery system. It's a solid dosage form that mixture of drug containing pellet and excipients are compressed into tablets. Pellets may have one or more layers with sustained release coating to control the time and location of drug release. MUPS is usually used as an alternative to conventional immediate release tablet or extended release tablet with its advantages of improving bioavailability, reducing local irritation and toxicity and reducing dose dumping.
