Anxo Licenses ADHD Drug to Korean Pharmaceutical Company, Targeting NT$600 Million Market Opportunity

Anxo has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with WhanIn Pharm. Co., Ltd., one of Korea’s top 50 pharmaceutical companies, granting rights to a high-barrier oral generic drug, MPH, for the Korean market.

MPH is used to treat attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Its primary mechanism works by increasing dopamine and norepinephrine levels in the brain to improve attention and reduce hyperactivity and impulsivity, and it is commonly known as the “smart drug.” The original brand-name patent for MPH has expired, and Anxo has used its proprietary technology platform to develop long-acting tablets in four dosage strengths: 18 mg, 27 mg, 36 mg, and 54 mg.

Notably, since the second half of last year, the original brand-name drug has experienced supply disruptions, with shortages frequently reported in the market. As alternative treatments have proven less effective, and given the high technical barriers and specialized manufacturing equipment required for this drug, no other companies have yet entered the development space. Given the strong growth potential of the Korean market, Anxo’s MPH, once successfully launched, and has the opportunity to capture a dominant market share.
